Meet our dedicated rehab staff

Julia Carlson, M.S., OTR/L

Julia is a licensed Occupational Therapist and the Director of Rehabilitation at Lafayette Rehab, where she also serves as a primary treating clinician. She earned her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from Husson University in 2018.

Since graduating, Julia has built a strong clinical and leadership background within skilled nursing settings. Her experience includes roles as an Occupational Therapist, Director of Rehabilitation, and Regional Director of Operations. This diverse experience allows her to blend hands-on patient care with strategic program development, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered rehabilitation services.

As Director of Rehabilitation, Julia is committed to clinical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting patients in achieving meaningful, functional independence. She brings a thoughtful, compassionate approach to care while maintaining a strong focus on outcomes and team development. Outside of work, Julia enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Richard Curley, PT, MS

Rich is a licensed Physical Therapist with over two decades of experience providing high-quality, patient-centered care across a wide range of clinical settings. He earned his Master's degree in Physical Therapy from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2001.

Rich's professional background includes extensive work in acute care, sub-acute rehabilitation-including experience at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital-home care, and many years in skilled nursing facilities. This broad clinical experience allows him to adapt his approach to meet the unique needs of each patient, supporting safe recovery, improved mobility, and long-term functional independence. Known for his compassionate and practical approach, Richard is dedicated to helping patients achieve meaningful progress and maintain the highest possible quality of life.

Outside of work, Rich enjoys spending time with his family and proudly sharing photos of his new grandbaby.

Desirae Cinquanta, M.S., CCC-SLP

Desirae is a compassionate and deeply dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist whose work is driven by kindness, curiosity, and a genuine love for human connection. She has a special passion for audiology and working with individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, bringing both expertise and empathy to every patient interaction.

A 2004 graduate of Northeastern University, Desirae began her career as a speech therapist in the school system, but quickly discovered her passion for skilled nursing. She joined The Lafayette in 2018 and has been an invaluable member of the therapy team ever since.

Desirae's favorite part of her job is learning her patients' life stories, particularly through reminiscence treatment. She believes that understanding where someone has been is key to helping them move forward, and she takes pride in creating a therapeutic environment rooted in trust, respect, and genuine connection.
Dez has an extraordinary ability to connect with her patients. She builds strong rapport that lasts well beyond the course of treatment, leaving a lasting impact on the people she serves and the community around her.
